The telecoms ministry of Bangladesh has released draft guidelines for the issuance of combined 3G/4G licences.
The auction date has yet to be disclosed but comments on the proposals can be sent until 22 August.
A total of six licences will be awarded, including one for state-owned Teletalk.
All six mobile operators in the country – Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Citycell, Teletalk, and Airtel – are allowed to take part as well as new entrants. But only one licence will go to a new player.
The licences are valid for 15 years and a total of 50MHz in the 2.1GHz band are being made available. The reserve price has been set at US$30m per MHz.
