The telecommunications regulator of Bahrain said that it would not be banning the use of any BlackBerry services in the country in the light of denial of service request from other regional governments. In a statement made to Dow Jones Newswires, Ahmed Al Doseri, the director of the TRA in Bahrain said: “The TRA has issued no directions to licensees requiring the blocking of BlackBerry or other services offered by Research In Motion.”
Research in Motion has been fighting fires in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India and most lately Lebanon over its refusal to allow the intelligence services of these governments access to its customer’s encrypted email and messages.
