Intelsat has appointed Flavien Bachabi as the new head of its Luxembourg headquarters office. Bachbabi will also become vice president, Business Operations and Intergovernmental Initiatives at Intelsat.
His responsibilities at the new office will include the oversight of all major business operations, joint venture agreements and regulatory filings. In addition, Bachabi will also be responsible for managing new business activities with inter-governmental entities, development banks and similar organizations.
Bachbabi was previously in charge of Intelsat’s African operations and succeeding him in this position will be Jon Osler, who has been appointed managing director of Intelsat’s Africa Sales team. Osler currently serves as a global account director at Intelsat, working on strategic global accounts. Bachabi, though, will continue to have a role in the African region, supporting major sales initiatives.
Prior to joining Intelsat in 1996, Bachabi spent more than 15 years in senior management roles with the Benin Telecommunications administration, where he led both domestic network and international services.
Osler formerly served as the leader of Middle East and Africa sales for ViaSat and has over 20 years of sales experience in communications and technology companies.
Meanwhile, Anita Beier resigned from her position as Intelsat’s senior vice president and controller of Intelsat Corporation effective as of November 19, 2010.
