Swedish vendor Ericsson and French-US firm Alcatel Lucent have been selected by US telco AT&T to supply the equipment and services for its upcoming 4G rollout in the US.
AT&T is due to begin field trials of the service later this year, with launch set for 2011. The telco is due to upgrade at least 90% of its 3G footprint to 4G by the end of 2011.
