US telco AT&T has announced that it secured a multimedia services operator (MSO) licence in Indonesia, as it seeks to tap this market described by the company as one of the world’s fastest growing.
The company explained that it was the first foreign telco to secure such a licence in the country. The licence will be operated through the AT&T Global Network Services Indonesia, which is 95%-owned by AT&T.
The services offered will include managed networks and business applications to multinational companies in Indonesia.
“Many of our key multinational customers have told us they needed to be in Indonesia, and while AT&T has been operating a successful business here, the new license will allow us to deliver an array of new services and make it much easier for us to do business with multinational customers,” stated by Choo Hock Lye, general manager of AT&T ASEAN.
