The private equity owners of US cableco Atlantic Broadband have hired Credit Suisse to conduct a sale of the company, according to two people with knowledge of the situation quoted in a Bloomberg report.
First round bids were due last week already, the article claimed. One of the unnamed sources was quoted saying the company could fetch up to US$1.4bn.
The company could attract private equity bidders, one of the people speculated.
Atlantic, which is the 14th largest cable operator according to its website, is owned by Oak Hill Capital and by Abry Partners. The company operates in Central Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, and South Carolina.
