The CEO of communications infrastructure firm Arqiva has handed in his resignation.
John Cresswell has led the UK group since January 2011 and will remain in his post until the end of August to ensure a smooth handover to his yet-to-be announced successor.
Arqiva said Cresswell had decided to leave to pursue other challenges and will spend time travelling before choosing his next career move.
In response to questions from SatelliteFinance, Arqiva would not confirm whether it had appointed a successor but said its new CEO would be announced in due course.
Before joining Arqiva, Cresswell had spent most of his career at ITV, the UK’s largest commercial free-to-air television broadcaster, where he was twice interim CEO, as well as finance director and chief operating officer.
His departure comes less than two months after former Marconi CEO Mike Parton was appointed as Arqiva’s chairman. He succeeded Peter Shore who had chaired the British group’s board since 2007.
Arqiva provides television, radio, satellite and wireless communications infrastructure in the UK, including 8,000 cell sites. It also has operations in Ireland, mainland Europe and the US.
