Tech giant Apple will make a one-off payment and pay on-going royalties to Finnish vendor Nokia as part of a settlement to a patent litigation dispute between the two companies.
Nokia announced later that the exact terms of the agreement were confidential. But its president and CEO, Stephen Elop, said that he was happy that Apple had become one of Nokia’s licensees.
“This settlement demonstrates Nokia’s industry leading patent portfolio and enables us to focus on further licensing opportunities in the mobile communications sector,” Elop said.
