Proinversion, a government agency that promotes private investment, has announced that America Movil has won two contracts to provide mobile and fixed-line telephone services in selected rural areas.
America Movil will invest over US$32m in the two projects.
The first project focuses on the “North Central” part of the country, which includes Lima and Cajamarca. It will benefit over 137,000 people in villages and small towns.
The second will provide services for 81,000 people in the “South Central” area, which includes Cusco, Ica and Puno.
