Franco-American equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent plans to promote Haim Teichholtz, the head of its mobile management subsidiary Mobilitech, to CEO of its Israeli division from 1 November.
Teichholtz will replace Yair Pecht, who is leaving the company after four years to run a start-up, according to local reports.
Alcatel-Lucent was unable to comment on Pecht’s future plans.
“Haim’s experience and competences in application domain will support the transformation process Alcatel-Lucent is undergoing all over the world in Israel, further strengthening our business”, said Gianluca Baini, VP of the Mediterranean customer unit of Alcatel-Lucent.
“I would take this occasion to thank Yair for his leadership, contribution and dedication at consolidating Alcatel-Lucent’s presence in the Israeli market, succeeding in positioning the company for growth. I would wish him the best for the future.”
But reports suggest Pecht, who is credited for turning the division around to sign equipment deals with Israeli carriers including Bezeq, HOT and Cellcom, will stay on Alcatel-Lucent Israel’s board over the coming year to advise Teichholtz.
