Portugal’s Zon Multimedia has contracted Alcatel Lucent to roll-out a GPON-based fibre to the home (FTTH) network.
“Having over 1.5 million customers, ZON is the largest pay-TV operator in Portugal. As a leader, we want to keep on providing end-users with the best solutions on the market,” said Paulo Ribeiro, Board Member of ZON TV Cabo.
Alcatel Lucent will deploy its 7342 Intelligent Services Access Manager Fiber-to-the-User GPON-based platform, which smoothly integrates with legacy voice and RF video networks.
Zon is the leading Pay TV operator and the second largest ISP in Portugal.
