Airtel Tanzania, the local subsidiary of Indian telco Bharti, has appointed Juma Mwapachu as its new chairman.
Most recently the Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC), he has also represented Tanzania as the ambassador to France, and chaired the boards of Tanzania Investment Bank and Tanzania Railways Corporation.
Other experience includes board positions at East African Breweries, and Tanzania Standard Newspapers Limited.
Mwapachu has law degrees from the University of Dar es Salaam and the Indian Academy of International Law and Diplomacy in New Delhi.
