US operator Verizon Wireless has said that there are 64 parties interested in buying its 700MHz A and B block licences.
Verizon announced plans to divest the spectrum in May as it sought to win FCC approval of its deal to buy US$3.9bn of AWS spectrum from a number of cablecos.
The Department of Justice approved the US$3.9bn deal with conditions last week and FCC chair Julius Genachowski has also endorsed the transaction, subject to the conditions agreed with the DOJ.
In an FCC filing Verizon confirmed it still plans to sell spectrum in the 700MHz band and has provided offering memorandums to 64 entities that have expressed interest and executed non-disclosure agreements.
Verizon appointed Loop Capital and Stephens Inc in May to sell the licences. In May the telco said there were 36 entities interested in its 700MHz spectrum.
