Central Asian operator Beeline Uzbekistan has recruited Alexander Vorobyov as its CFO.
The executive joins from fellow VimpelCom subsidiary Tacom, which offers wireless services in Tajikistan where he was its financial director, local website UzReport said.
Prior to joining VimpelCom in 2011, Vorobyov worked at Russian incumbent MTS which included a spell working at its Turkmenistani subsidiary.
The head of the Uzbek business said the new CFO’s experience in Central Asia would be crucial to driving the business forward.
In May VimpelCom’s group CEO Jo Lunder said it was looking to grow in existing markets such as Uzbekistan, and that this could include acquisitions.
