Swedish telecoms giant TeliaSonera has poached Jonas Bengtsson from smaller rival Tele2 to become its new general counsel.
Bengtsson held the same role in Tele2 and has more than 10 years of experience as a general counsel in the telecoms sector, including a stint at Telenor Sweden.
He will replace Jan Henrik Ahrnell, who after 14 years as TeliaSonera’s general counsel will become a senior adviser to the company.
Johan Dennelind, TeliaSonera’s incoming CEO, said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Jonas Bengtsson to TeliaSonera. He has extensive experience of developing and managing legal teams in complex and international environments.”
Bengtsson will assume his position in early 2014 at the latest.
