The GSM licence of Moldovan operator Eventis Mobile has been suspended for two months.
The Moldovan telecoms regulator ANRCETI said that in December 2009 it found that the operator had failed to meet its obligation to cover 60% of the population and operate at least 340 base stations by the end of 2009.
Eventis Mobile put forward their lack of financial resources for failing to comply with the licence requirements and said they were in negotiations with national and international investors to raise fresh funding.
The company was granted its 900-1800 licence in December 2006 and it launched services a year later.
The ANRCETI said that the operator had over 11,800 subscribers at the end of 2009.
