Vodafone hopes to complete the takeover of Kabel Deutschland (KDG) as soon as October, according to German business daily Handelsblatt.
With reference to three people with knowledge of the plans the paper reported that closing is scheduled following KDG’s shareholder meeting, set to take place on 10 October.
The tight schedule implies that Vodafone does not expect an extended antitrust review to take place, as closing is only possible once all regulatory approvals have been given.
Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao had said previously that the British operator does not expect the antitrust review to be too complicated.
The official tender offer will be published at the end of July, the sources told the paper, with one of them adding that a KDG supervisory board meeting would take place on 1 August to discuss the offer.
None of the parties commented on the reported timetable.
