Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has appointed former Telenet CEO Duco Sickinghe to its TMT and Benelux advisory boards.
Sickinghe stepped down as head of Belgian cableco Telenet at the end of March, shortly after Liberty Global’s ultimately unsuccessful bid to acquire all outstanding Telenet shares.
He will start his new roles at CVC on 1 September.
CVC noted that, during his time at Telenet, Sickinghe oversaw the company’s listing on the Euronext stock exchange.
Commenting on Sickinghe’s new appointments, CVC’s managing partner for the Benelux region said: “I look forward to working with [Duco] to unlock exciting opportunities throughout the Benelux and the wider TMT space.”
Sickinghe had joined Telenet as CEO in 2001. Recently. He is also chairman of the board of the Van Eeghen Group, a member of the board of directors of Central European Media Enterprises and the European Assets Trust.
Founded in 1981, CVC has 21 offices in Europe, Asia and the US. Its TMT investments include telco Sunrise in Switzerland and cable network operator Operador R and telecoms infrastructure operator Abertis in Spain.
