Belarusian mobile operator BelCel has named Sergei Semenovich Shinkarev as its new acting director.
The Minsk-based company, owned by the Netherlands’ CIB BV and Cyprus’ Jarash, announced in a very short statement that the appointment was made on 8 May.
In a separate announcement, BelCel, which operates under the brand name Diallog, said that, due to the modernisation of its network, it will suspend services in several areas from 16 May. The company did not say when services will be resumed.
BelCel is the smallest of Belarus’ mobile operators, the others being MTS, Telekom Austria-controlled Velcom and Turkcell-controlled Life (BeST).
BelCel was not immediately available for further comment.
