The chief operating officer of Telenet, Jan Vorstermans, will leave the Belgian cableco at the end of July, the company has announced.
Vorstermans, who has been with Telenet for more than ten years, is resigning to “assist young entrepreneurs in their start-up phase via his own company,” according to the statement.
His responsibilities will be divided between two people: Veenod Kurup, who will lead the information technology department, and Telenet’s new CTO.
Current CTO Geert Van Hove will become vice president business transformation at Liberty Global, Telenet’s parent company.
Kurup and the new CTO will become members of Telenet’s executive team.
In early March, the cableco named John Porter, a former head of Australian pay-TV group Austar United Communications, as CEO, replacing Duco Sickinghe.
