VimpelCom has announced executive appointments in its Moscow and Armenian operations.
Artem Nitz will become the new vice president and regional director of VimpelCom’s Moscow business, which operates under the Beeline brand name. Previously CFO of Ukrainian subsidiary, Kyivstar, Nitz will begin his new role in June.
Nitz replaces Andrey Pyatakhin in Moscow, who will become the new CEO of Armenian unit ArmenTel, also operating under the Beeline brand name. ArmenTel financial director Karen Shahnazaryan has served as acting director-general since January this year.
Nitz first joined Kyivstar in 2004 and became director of corporate strategy in November 2010. Following a period as acting CFO, he became permanent CFO in December 2011. During his time in the role, he helped to manage Kyivstar’s merger with Ukranian Radio Systems and Golden Telecom.
Meanwhile, Pyatakhin has worked for the VimpelCom group since 2001. In 2009, he became CEO of the Georgian subsidiary and, in 2011, started as VP and regional director of the Moscow region.
