Wolfgang Kniese, CFO of Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile Austria until the end of the month, will become VP area management UK for the parent company, a DT spokesperson told TelecomFinance.
The news ends reported speculation that Kniese could become chief financial officer of Deutsche Telekom in 2014, when current CFO Timotheus Hoettges will take over from chief executive Rene Obermann.
In March Deutsche Telekom had announced that Kniese would return to the company headquarters in the German city of Bonn. At the time DT did not specify what role he would take on.
As reported previously Stefan Gross will become new T-Mobile Austria CFO, starting on 1 May.
Gross has been with Deutsche Telekom since 1993 and has worked for the company’s international business development team and as VP finance for T-Mobile USA. Most recently Gross held a leading position in controlling at DT’s head office.
