The departing CEO of Malaysian mobile carrier Maxis has requested an early release from his position, effective from 15 April 2013.
Sandip Das was scheduled to leave on 30 June 2013 but will depart early, according to an announcement by the telco.
Johan Dennelind starts as the new CEO on 1 July 2013. In the interim period a committee comprising CFO Nasution Mohammed and joint COOs Suren J Amarasekera and Mark Dioguardi will run the company, reporting to chairman Arshad bin Raja Tun Uda.
“I wish to thank the board and employees of Maxis for their support. It has been my privilege to work with a remarkable team, and I wish the board, management and staff the very best for the future,” Sandip Das said.
Maxis has over 14 million subscribers and reported revenues of RM8.9bn (US$2.85bn) in 2012, according to the company.
