Greek ISP Forthnet is no longer in talks with Wind Hellas about a possible consolidation of business activities.
The Athens-listed company issued a short statement to investors today saying that the non-exclusive negotiations, which lasted for several months, have proved “inconclusive” and therefore been called off.
“Fothnet shall continue its organic growth based on its leading position in the provision of combined telecommunications and pay TV services,” the company stated.
On 8 August 2012, Forthnet announced that it had entered into discussions with other companies within the sector about “a potential consolidation of business activities, as well as the terms and conditions of a strategic alliance”. On 26 October, the company confirmed that, in this context, it was exchanging non-binding proposals with Wind Hellas.
Forthnet was also understood to be in talks with Hellas Online, which was not immediately available for comment.
