Indonesian mobile operator Indosat is considering issuing IDR4trn (US$414m) of rupiah-denominated bonds this year, its CEO said.
The offering will be used to fund investments and refinance debt, said Alexander Rusli, according to Dow Jones.
“We’ll be issuing in rupiah to lower currency risks,” he added, but did not give a specific timeframe for the offering.
Indosat raised IDR2.7trn (US$280m) from rupiah bond issuances last year.
As TelecomFinance previously reported, Indosat sold tower assets to local towerco Tower Bersama for US$406m last August, in order to repay outstanding debt and fund capex.
