US incumbent AT&T has proposed to exchange 17 series of notes for up to US$4bn in new notes.
The operator is offering to exchange a wide variety of notes maturing between 2030 and 2097 for two new series maturing in 2042 and 2045 respectively.
AT&T said it would offer up to US$3.5bn of notes in each new series, but would limit the aggregate total of new notes it would issue to a maximum of US$4bn.
The 17 series of old notes have been split into three pools. Offers for notes in pools one and two will be made via a modified Dutch auction process.
The tender is open until 13 December.
