Four operators have submitted their bids for Cameroon’s third mobile licence.
Bharti Airtel, Maroc Telecom, Viettel and Technologie et Systeme d’Information (Korea Telecom) have filed their bids, the Cameroon telecoms ministry announced on Tuesday.
Of the seven operators initially shortlisted, Monaco Telecom, Deutsche Telecom and Portugal Telecom have dropped out of the tender process.
The ministry has until 19 November to review the bids and prepare its report.
As TelecomFinance reported back in August, the winning bidder, who will receive a 3G licence, will compete against MTN and Orange, respectively number one and two in Cameroon.
