The group’s US$1bn tranche due 2017 carries a 1.25% coupon and was priced at 99.691. It priced the US$1bn tranche due 2022 at 98.699, with a 2.5% coupon.
Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities and Morgan Stanley were underwriters on the transaction, which will be issued on 26 September and is Vodafone’s largest US debt deal for years.
Recent policy announcements by central banks have bolstered investor confidence in US bonds, and a surge of companies have been tapping the market this week while bank lending remains low.
