Eduardo Taulet will take on the role of CEO of TeliaSonera-owned Spanish operator Yoigo.
Taulet will begin in his new job on 1 September, replacing Johan Andsjo, who is leaving for a position outside the company, TeliaSonera said.
Taulet was previously chief commercial officer at Yoigo, a position he had held since 2008.
TeliaSonera’s president of mobility services, Hakan Dahlstrom, commented on the appointment: “During the six years since Yoigo was born it has delivered on the target to become profitable and is now an established network operator on the Spanish market with a true challenger position. Eduardo Taulet has the necessary experience and capability of developing Yoigo further in this direction”.
TeliaSonera is said to have hired Deutsche Bank to help it offloading its 76.6% stake in Yoigo. France Telecom and America Movil are rumoured to be interested, although the latter denied earlier this month that it was looking at the Spanish asset.
