The Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has launched the tender process for spectrum in the 1729.9-1754.9MHz and 1824.9-1849.9MHz ranges, capable of supporting LTE services.
Five licences valid until 31 December 2027 will be offered, the UKE said in a statement today.
The deadline for tenders is 22 October and applicants may bid for up to three frequency bands.
The watchdog said its key concern when assessing tender offers will be to preserve competition within the telecoms sector.
Orange Polska, Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Mobile (formerly Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa) and Zygmunt Solorz group companies (including Polkomtel) currently have 1800MHz band access.
