Telecom Egypt has named Mohamed Elnawawy as acting CEO and managing director, replacing Tarek Aboualam who resigned on 11 August.
While heading the company, Elnawawy will continue to perform his responsibilities of SVP and chief strategy officer, according to a press release. He joined Telecom Egypt in 2001.
In early July, Telecom Egypt announced that Aboualam would step down after only six months at the helm of the incumbent. A company statement cited personal reasons for his departure.
