Telefonica Czech Republic (Telefonica CR) has named David Melcon as its new chief financial officer.
Melcon, who replaces Jesus Perez de Uriguen on 1 August, will also join the company’s board of directors.
Originally from Spain, Melcon has more than 15 years’ experience in the telecoms industry, first joining the Telefonica Group in 2001, according to a company statement.
He has since held senior finance roles in several of the group’s units internationally, including in Latin America and Spain. Most recently, he was finance director for Telefonica Europe.
Melcon is also a member of Telfin Ireland’s board of directors.
