The Austrian antitrust regulator, the BWB, has approved America Movil’s acquisition of a minority stake in incumbent Telekom Austria.
A spokesperson for the agency said that no competition concerns had been identified during the investigation.
In mid June, Carlos Slim’s America Movil had agreed to increase its stake in Telekom Austria to up to 25.9% directly and indirectly by acquiring shares held by Austrian investor Ronny Pecik and his Egyptian partner Naguib Sawiris.
