Dutch telco KPN has lost its corporate treasury director Richard Veffer – the latest in a string of senior executives to depart.
KPN confirmed Veffer, who spent just over a year and a half with the company, had left, but declined to provide further details.
Veffer’s responsibilities at KPN included coordinating banking facilities, bond issues and M&A financing. During his tenure, KPN launched a new bond tender programme and issued two major bonds – a €2.25bn bond and a £400m bond.
Following former CEO Ad Scheepbouwer’s departure in April 2011, numerous senior executives have left the company, including several financial directors.
KPN has hired Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan to explore strategic options for the company in light of Mexican telecoms group America Movil’s €8 per share offer to boost its stake to 27.7%, which KPN firmly opposes.
KPN shareholders have until 27 June to decide whether or not to accept AMX’ offer, although the Carlos Slim-owned company has said the acceptance period may be extended.
