Dutch incumbent KPN has been fined E500,000 for applying inappropriate discounts to some of its wholesale customers, Telegeography reports.
The telecoms regulator OPTA reportedly said that some of KPN’s wholesale clients benefitted from additional discounts for international calls between 2006 and the beginning of 2008. KPN offered these favourable rates in order to win back the customers that had moved to competitors.
KPN is expected to appeal the regulator’s decision.
