Etisalat has reportedly selected Alcatel Lucent to quicken the deployment of its nationwide fibre to the home network.

The vendor will provide its gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology to connect 50,000 retail and business customers, offering high definition TV, video on demand services and superfast broadband.
