Henrik Poulsen has announced plans to step down as president and CEO of Danish incumbent TDC at the end of October.
Poulsen, who has held the role since November 2008, is leaving to become president and CEO of Danish renewable energy firm DONG Energy.
TDC said its search for a successor will include internal as well as external candidates.
Vagn Sørensen, TDC’s chairman, said: “The board of directors wish Henrik the best of success with his coming position, and wish to acknowledge the strong contribution, he has made to TDC. In the midst of a global financial crisis and in a Danish telecom market characterised by head-on competition, TDC has during his leadership been successful in strengthening the performance of the company. He will hand over a company, which is acknowledged throughout Europe as one of the absolutely strongest telcos.”
