Two unnamed sources cited in a media report claimed that three private equity firms are interested in Polish telco Netia.
One of the sources, cited by Reuters, reportedly said that the suitors will be allowed to conduct due diligence after Easter. One of the interested parties is Innova Capital, the source said.
In a statement published after market close, Netia commented on the report, saying: “Netia Management confirms that in recent months, from time to time, different private equity funds have expressed interest in acquiring Netia’s shares. Management may agree to due diligence requests by credible investors if the Management considers this to be in the long-term interest of the company and its shareholders.”
Currently, no due diligence is underway, and none is scheduled, Netia added.
Netia shares opened at PLN 6.42 (€1.552) this morning and peaked at PLN 6.75 (€1.632) following the Reuters report.
Netia’s market cap stands at PLN2.45bn (€592m).
