Google is set to name Dennis Woodside as the new CEO at handset maker Motorola Mobility, according to a Bloomberg report citing three people familiar with the matter.
Woodside, currently a Google SVP, would replace current CEO Sanjay Jha when Google’s US$12.5bn acquisition of Motorola Mobility is completed.
Google declined to comment. A Motorola Mobility spokesperson said: “Sanjay is fully engaged, focused on running the business and getting the deal closed.”
Woodside has previously worked as president of Google’s American operations and managing director of its UK, Benelux and Ireland businesses.
European and US antitrust authorities approved the acquisition last week, but the transaction still reportedly needs approval in China.
