Morgan Stanley has acquired 59.07 million shares in Danish incumbent TDC, corresponding to 7.16% of the total share capital and voting rights.
TDC said in a statement the deal boosts Morgan Stanley’s ownership of the total share capital to 7.17% plus voting rights.
Morgan Stanley paid a nominal value of DKK1 (US$0.18) for the shares, the statement added.
The bank was the sole bookrunner for NTC Holdings’ close to US$1bn sale of an approximate 15.5% stake in TDC on 14 February.
NTC, a partnership of five private equity firms based in Luxembourg, reduced its holding in TDC from about 59% to 43.3%.
The partnership and its selling shareholders agreed to a 90-day lock-up period from the closing of the sale, subject to certain customary exceptions, Morgan Stanley said in a statement yesterday.
