Brasil Telecom, part of the Brazilian telecoms group Oi, is planning to make a public offering of R$2bn (US$1.14bn) in debentures.
In a statement, Brasil Telecom said that it had applied to regulators to make a public offering of simple debentures, not convertible into shares, in up to two series.
The lead coordinator for the offering is Banco Itau BBA. BB – Banco de Investimento and Banco Bradesco BBI are also coordinators.
Brasil Telecom said the amount of the offering could be increased at its discretion.
