UK fixed-line operator Alpha Telecom has announced it has ceased trading as it sets a course for liquidation.
Further details were not disclosed, but reports suggest customers had been complaining of a lack of service for more than a week as the company blamed technical difficulties.
The London-based group had been providing international call services through its fixed-line infrastructure, and just five months ago in August it launched an MVNO on local mobile operator Vodafone’s network.
At the launch of its MVNO, reports cited Alpha claiming it was set to shift more than 650,000 of its fixed line customers onto the network.
Alpha, and holding company Onyx Innovation UK Ltd, could not be contacted.
It is understood that Alpha has yet to contact UK regulator Ofcom or local company registration agency Companies House about it ceasing trading.
