Finnish vendor Nokia has nominated Risto Siilasmaa, the founder of local security software maker F-Secure, to become its new chairman.
Siilasmaa, who also chairs the board of Finnish mobile operator Elisa, would replace Jorma Ollila as the group aims to revive its smartphone business in the face of significant competition from internet giants such as Apple.
Nokia is also seeking to appoint Marjorie Scardino, the CEO of UK-based education giant Pearson, as its vice chairman.
The company will hold its next AGM on 3 May 2012.
