Spanish tourist group Globalia is reportedly planning to sell its MVNO PepePhone to the company’s founder, Javier Hidalgo.
Citing market sources, Spanish newspaper El Economista reported that the MVNO comes with a €50m price tag and will be completed before spring.
According to the report, Hidalgo has convinced diverse groups of investors to join him in a new business stage for PepeMobile, the controlling company of PepePhone.
It reported that Globalia currently holds 90% of PepePhone’s capital, with Javier Hidalgo holding the rest.
Hidalgo is the son of Globalia’s executive president, Juan Jose Hidalgo.
If the reported acquisition were to be completed, it would mean that the PepePhone’s ownership would change, but it would still effectively stay in the hands of the same family.
A Globalia spokeswoman refused to comment citing company policy.
