Ronny Pecik, the investor who recently acquired 15% in Telekom Austria, also wants four seats on the supervisory board of the telco, according to a media report.
The article in Austrian daily Die Presse quoted Pecik as saying that he wants four out of 12 TA seats. Speaking to the paper, he also said that the management board needs to be extended from currently two to three or four members, and that he expects to be involved in the hiring process. “There are candidates,” he was quoted saying. “Their names will be announced soon.”
The article also reported that according to rumours Pecik, who is backed by Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris, will announce a further increase of his stake above 20% before Christmas.
The Austrian state owns 28% of TA via its investment vehicle OeIAG.
