Serbian incumbent Telekom Srbija is close to completing the acquisition of a 20% stake in itself held by Greek telco OTE, according to reported remarks by the Serbian prime minister.
Reuters reported that prime minister Mirko Cvetkovic had suggested that it is almost a done deal, but that he did not want to disclose all the details as the agreement has not been signed yet.
Telekom Srbija was not immediately available for comment.
The Serbian state holds an 80% stake in Telekom Srbija, while the rest is held by OTE.
OTE said in a stock market filing on 29 November that it was in talks with Telekom Srbija on disposing of its 20% stake.
