Mobile operator Safaricom is set to sign a partnership deal with Kenyan IT services company Seven Seas Technology (SST) next week, according to local media reports.
The Business Daily newspaper reported that both companies will contribute KSh1.5bn (US$15m) to the JV. Safaricom will also reportedly have the option to acquire the rest of SST before the end of 2013.
An SST spokeswoman confirmed to TelecomFinance that the company was getting into a partnership with Safaricom to offer managed services to the market. She said that more details would be announced on Tuesday.
Safaricom was not immediately available for comment.
