Russian state-owned national operator Rostelecom is in talks with parent company Svyazinvest to buy Moscow-based broadband operator Qwerty for around Rbs1.2bn (US$38m) , RT reports without quoting sources.
The due diligence of the company will start in the near future, Telecompaper reports quoting local media Kommersant.
In September, Rostelecom was reported to be in negotiations to acquire another Moscow-based ISP Gorcom from CEO Oleg Zaporozhets for Rbs1.2-1.4bn (US$38-44m).
Qwerty is owned by Moscow-based operator Central Telegraph, in which state-owned holding company Svyazinvest holds 51%. Svyazinvest also owns 43% of Rostelecom.
Neither Rostelecom nor Central Telegraph replied to request for comment before press time.
