The Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) has appointed Francis Wamukota Wangusi as acting director general.
The regulator said the appointment was made following an order issued by the High Court on 10 August instructing Charles JK Njoroge to step down until the case challenging his re-appointment is heard and determined.
Until now, Wangusi was director in charge of special projects and broadcasting.
The regulator was not immediately available for comment.
