Communications infrastructure firm Arqiva’s VOD venture SeeSaw is set to announce new details about the future of the online catch-up service tomorrow, TelecomFinance has learnt.
SeeSaw had previously been on course for closure after Arqiva was unable to find a buyer by its self-imposed 30 June deadline. But the website continues to operate.
The group is understood to have been approached by a number of UK and international companies, including reported frontrunner US investment firm Criterion Capital Partners, but none placed serious bids by Arqiva’s deadline.
Despite this, a source at the time told TelecomFinance that there was still a possibility for interested parties to place late bids.
The potential buyers seeking to capitalise on TV services’ shift to the internet reportedly included US OTT firm Hulu and French DTH group Canal Plus.
